* 1921

Born in 1921 in Camino al Tagliamento/Udine. After passing the first part of the Piano Diploma at the Conservatory of  S. Cecilia  in Rome, he transferred to the Conservatory in Venice where, under the direction of G.F.Malipiero, he obtained Diploms in Piano, Choral Music, Choir Conducting and Composition. He then attended the CEE Advanced Course obtaining the Diploma with a thesis on European integration through school inter-relations and exchanges. He lived abroad for 20 years for study and work and then began teaching Choral Music at the Venice Conservatory and was appointed Maestro at the Fenice Teather of Venice. He has always been very active in various musical fields and in particular in the field of Education, transcribing several works by Hindemith and Zoltan Kodaly and he himself is author of pedagogic compositions, among  which The game of Opera. For 4 years he held the elective appointment of Ordinary Director of the International Kodaly Society in Budapest. He is involved in Etnomusicology, presenting at the Convention of the Knitusita Academy in Halifax - a paper on the connection between the music from Aquileja culture and the spontaneous culture of Friuli. Among his choral and instrumental compositions, attention should be drawn to The Seven Trumpets of the Apocalypse, Oratorio Pasquale, and The trumpets of Jericho where  his particular aptitude for choral music stands out. He has set poetry to music by various writers among whom Jacques Prévert and Ezra Pound. He was the Director of the Conservatori di Musica in Castelfranco Veneto, Pescara, Palermo, Trapani, Udine and Venice.
